Bethesda, Md., and Palo Alto, Calif., are the smartest communities with populations between 50,000 and 99,999, according to On Numbers' analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data.
Where do New Mexico cities within that population parameter rank? The state has three that quality: Santa Fe, Rio Rancho and Las Cruces.
